This award is to recognize and honour the best start-up idea by UG students. This award caries one cash prize of Rs. 1,00,000/- to the deserving UG students (single or in a group) every year.

SELECTION PROCESS
The following procedure will be adopted to select the deserving students for this award:
- SCSP office will invite the proposals on start-up idea from the interested students at individual level or in group. The applicants will be asked to submit a brief description on why they deserve this award.
- A committee will shortlist the proposals received and conduct interview and/or presentation of the shortlisted candidates.
- The final recommendation of the committee will be sent to the Senate for the approval.

This award is to recognize and honour the effective time-management skill of the students to carry out multiple activities simultaneously and show significant improvement in some of them without compromising on the others. The activities may be as diverse as possible including academics, sports, culture, hobbies, technical, leadership, social service etc. This award caries a cash prize of Rs. 50,000/- per winner to maximum five students every year.
ELIGIBILITY
All existing students who have completed a minimum 2 years of stay at IIT Roorkee.
SELECTION PROCESS
The following procedure will be adopted to select the deserving students for this award:
- SCSP office will invite the application from the interested students at individual level. The applicants will be asked to submit a brief description on why they deserve this award, SGPAs of all the previous semesters and semester-wise involvement in various activities demonstrating efficient management of time in multiple activities. The applicants must accompany supporting documents for the claims made.
- A committee will shortlist the applications received and conduct interview and/or presentation of the shortlisted candidates.
- The final recommendation (up to five winners) of the committee will be sent to the Senate for the approval.
MANDATORY DOCUMENT
To apply for this award, the following documents are mandatory to submit:
- A brief write-up on why you deserve this award.
- Supporting documents demonstrating efficient time management by you in at least 2 activities duly endorsed by faculty coordinator/Professor-in-Charge/Dean.
This prize is for best essay on a general topic in terms of contents and writing style that encourages independent thinking and originality. This award carries two cash prizes, first prize of Rs. 13,000/- and second prize of Rs. 7,000/-.

- A committee will shortlist the applications received and ask the shortlisted candidates to write essay on a topic given on the spot. The committee will evaluate the essay and recommend up to two winners.
- The final recommendation of the committee will be sent to the Senate for the approval.
This award is to recognize and honour the leadership skills of students who have actively contributed in student groups of the Institute at Bhawans, Department/Centre or Institute level by making exemplary improvements. This award caries a cash prize of Rs. 25,000/- per winner to maximum two students every year.
ELIGIBILITY
- All students of VIII semester of B.Tech./ B.Arch./ BS-MS/ Integrated M.Sc./ IDD/Integrated M.Tech. programmes admitted through JEE (Advanced).
- Applicant should be associated with one or more student groups of the Institute such as Institute Alumni Relations Cell (IARC), Information Management Group (IMG), National Cadet Corps (NCC), Culture Council, Technical Council, Hobbies Club, Sports Council, Bhawan Council, Student Activity Council (SAC), etc.

- ENCORE Awards for All-round Excellence : Four awards of Rs 60,000 each given to 4th year students for excellence across academics, sports, arts, social service and overall leadership. ENCORE Awards for Merit-cum-means: Eight awards of Rs. 30,000 each given to 3rd year students for all-round excellence with means as an additional criteria.
- ENCORE Awards for Merit-cum-means: Eight awards of Rs. 30,000 each given to 2nd year students for all-round excellence with means as an additional criteria.

This award is to recognize and honour the activities related to effective communication skills by the students. This award carries three cash prizes, first prize of Rs. 50,000, second prize of Rs. 30,000/- and third prize of Rs. 20,000. In case, a female student is not among the first three winners, one additional prize of Rs. 11,000/- will be given to a deserving girl student.
ELIGIBILITY
All students of III, IV and V years of B.Tech./ B.Arch./ BS-MS/ Integrated M.Sc./ IDD/Integrated M.Tech. programmes and all students of PG programmes provided they fulfill any of the following condition:
- Student has a good record of writing in different types of publications or Institute magazines. Student needs to submit copies of their publications.
- Student has authored a research publication. A reprint/ copy of the publication is to be submitted.
- Student has participated in debate/ declamation/elocution competitions at IIT Roorkee. Student needs to submit copies of certificate or other acceptable evidence.
- Student represented IIT Roorkee in an event where communication skills matter.
- If a student does not fit in any of the above categories from (a) to (d), he/ she can still nominate himself/herself. In this case, student is required to submit an essay of around 1500 words on a given topic.
